Cultivate one hundred years and you will share the same boat.
Cultivate one thousand years and you will share the same pillow.
How many lifetimes cultivated to share this same boat, this same pillow, this same incarnation?
The shared boat will take you to the enchanted shore,
The warm pillow promising fragrant dreams,
Hand in hand, sharing the wonderful sceneries along the way.
A thousand years ago, your journey began,
When heaven was young and earth innocent.
Climbing endless mountains of history,
Drinking at the rivers of tomorrow,
Pausing to gaze at the moving clouds,
Entreating the blinking stars to guide you,
To the one embedded in your heart since the beginning of time.
Now, in this incarnation,
Mirrored in each other’s eyes.
Fingers laced in the mudra of love,
That same mudra engraved on the sacred altar where
A thousand lotuses bloom, smiling that this life,
Two lovers’ karma connects.
“I will hold your hand and grow old with you,” said the ancient song.
So when the days come when hair turns white,
Still holding hands, remembering the ancient wisdom and smiling a wrinkled smile.

Hi Mingmei,
I liked your love poem. i once told a friend that I would like to meet a nice Korean woman. There is a longer story behind that thought. Then I met my wife. God does answer prayers sometimes. We like John Hiatt's song "Have A Little Faith". The beginning goes something like this. "When the road grows dark; and you cannot see. Have a little faith in me".
Best,
David
