Nancy, You are a magnet for great adventures, and certainly this Oregon one is right up there at the top! I've seen Haystack Rock, and to think that it's right outside your window is amazing...have a great time.

Thank all of you for your wonderful comments. On all of my posts. This is quite an adventure on so many levels. Right now, I am going to listen to chanting music, so I can ward off the bears. Nancy

Your story reminds me of the time my husband went fishing in Canada. He and his buddies stayed in a remote cabin with no "facilities." In the dark of the night, he went outside to take care of business and when he did, he encountered a mother bear and her two cubs. To say he sprinted back into the cabin would be an understatement. I think he could have won an Olympic gold medal in the 100-yard dash. Keep the great stories coming, Nancy!

Hi Nancy, I'm loving your posts. Can't wait for the next one. I believe you're right - you have much ahead if you. You shall not not get eaten by the animals.

Might want to look up the spiritual meanings of Bears and Cougars. I use Ted Andrews Animal Speak to find out the medicine of any animals that cross my path. Sounds exciting! You are braver than you think or you wouldn't be where you are.

Hilarious! I laughed out loud, AND they are serious about the bears. Not to be taken lightly, Mama and her cubs. You might look it up on the internet . . . what to do if you run into them. I think you're not supposed to run, but I don't want your life depending on my advice. Look it up. So glad you're enjoying our precious Oregon coast. The locals are a piece of the experience that you are getting -- very cool, no extra charge. - Barbara
