Turn on the TV, pick up a newspaper, or click on the Internet and the message is the same. Times are hard. People are losing their jobs at double-digit rates. Businesses that have lasted for years are closing their doors. Relationships are failing under the enormous stress.
It all sounds depressing and it is, but it’s nothing new. People face job loss everyday. Businesses fail at alarming rates, especially in the first five years, and forty percent plus divorce rates confirm relationships aren’t easy. No matter whether it’s today or five years ago, things go wrong and people find themselves silently screaming, “Someone rescue me!.”
Life’s challenges have piled up on my doorstep over the years, from major health challenges to being unfairly sued to a failed marriage to near financial ruin. As I moved through each challenge, I began to develop methods that would turn my bad situation into a winning outcome.
Even though these methods of success sustained me, I never thought of sharing them. They were mine, my secret weapons to tackle my own “gone wrongs” and they allowed me to create a life of success that others couldn’t seem to obtain.
This changed in 2006. I was in the middle of helping my brother resolve a major business crisis. His business, and my money, were both in trouble and desperately needed rescuing. He’d made mistakes and in spite of the abundance of business books, technical tools and training classes, the business was spiraling toward failure.
As I worked with him to resolve each crisis, I began to share my secret weapons, my methods, to deal with the “gone wrongs.” He was my brother; I couldn’t let him fail. At the same time I began to have a reoccurring dream that nagged at me to share my methods, not just with my brother, but also with others.
My bestselling book, RESCUE ME! , and my current life focus, were inspired by this persistent dream. The book is a true story that offers vivid and memorable glimpses of humanvulnerability; a story so personal and revealing that most people would never choose to share it. The proven methods it offers for saving yourself from “gone wrongs” are useful for anyone.
Let me inspire you to challenge your assumptions about business and yourself, and help you develop the skills necessary for lasting success despite the challenges you might face.
All the best,
