NEW! Listen to Annie Vanderbilt in a 3-min. audio clip from her 53-min. conversation.
A compelling new voice in women's fiction, Annie Vanderbilt recently published her hit debut novel, The Secret Papers of Madame Olivetti while in her 50's. A graduate of Radcliffe College, she met her husband, Bill Vanderbilt, at Harvard. Together they've gone on wilderness adventures worldwide for the past 40 years. Annie's worked as a carpenter, woodcarver, led backcountry programs, and run a ski touring business. Presently, she's writing her second novel and we're proud to say Annie was one of our first Spirited Woman Guest Bloggers. She divides her time between Idaho and Sanibel, Florida.
In her "live" 1-hour conversation, Annie talked about how her fall off a cliff changed her life and writing career, what it's like to be a debut novelist in your 60's, and how she survived the loss of her unpublished manuscript (Yesterday's Woman) to a fire, and more.
Annie's conversation was tremendously candid and filled with spirit.
"Annie left me breathless. What a story! and such an inspiration as my mother would say "just keep moving ahead" and she certainly did. She is an inspiration! Thank you again." - Elaine Carroll
