Discovering the power of the internet and the impact of online relationships crossed DeeAnna’s path a dozen years ago when she logged on as an “e-patient” to search respiratory symptoms her doctors couldn’t diagnose. Susan Madden Lankford grew up in the Midwest and holds a BS degree from the University of Nebraska. Originally a pre-med candidate, she developed a strong interest in science and laboratory research. A purchase of a second-hand Hasselblad added to her panoply of tools to pursue her exploration of life but soon created an artistic passion and led to postgraduate studies in photography.
Early on, Lankford attended workshops with renowned masters RoyDeCarava in Yosemite and Richard Misrach and Judy Dater in Carmel. How many women’s magazines tell you that you already have everything you need?
The RAY magazine has set out to do just that. More than six years ago, Sierra Sullivan, founder and publisher of The RAY was fed up with mainstream media sending a message to women that they are not good enough unless they look, act or dress a certain way. She resolved to change that by offering an inspirational lifestyle magazine for women empowering us to love and accept ourselves.

Corrie Woods is a women’s self-care coach, a professional speaker, and the author of the award-winning book, The Woman’s Field Guide to Exceptional Living. disposal to combat cancer, we had to wear the dreaded hospital gown!,"
says Peg Feoderoff, the enthusiastic president of the company.
So, what's two cancer-diagnosed spirited women baby boomers to do? Start a company with their other sister, and say "no, no, no" to the dreaded hospital gown and it's humility and coldness.
As Peg says, "When
illness such as cancer strikes, it affects the mind, the body, and the
spirit. It is our feeling that the body is dealt with by the medical
community, but that little attention is paid to the mind and spirit. In
our small way, through designing and manufacturing our garments with
their unusual functionality and fashion, we are empowering women to
include their minds and spirits as they recover and heal. "

Peg has been cancer free since her surgery in 2002, and she is grateful for every day. Unfortunately, despite 35 months of chemotherapy, holistic remedies and prayer, Claire at age 44, succumbed to the disease on January 31, 2006. She is missed by many, many people, especially her sisters and her daughter, Lilly, for whom one of the gowns is named.

Mickey Baxter-Spade is a woman on a mission: wishing each and everyone of us beauty everywhere we look.
What a wonderful heartfelt philosophy - from a wonderful heartfelt artist.
Known internationally for her custom designed murals and limited edition fine art giclees of original paintings, Mickey travels the globe painting.
Her work, exquisitely reflecting the beauty of nature, graces the halls of well known resorts throughout the country, including the Broadmoor Resort in Colorado, Kingsmill Resort in Virginia and the Wigwam Resort in Arizona.
But it hasn't always been easy for this unstoppable spirit. In fact, Mickey has quite a story to tell.
Born in Indiana, the oldest of eight children, she is a self-taught
artist. After a successful 15-year career as a ceramicist and teacher
of ceramics, Mickey sold her business to help her then-husband's new
auto parts store. In 1987, they packed up and moved to Colorado
Springs, Colorado to start a new adventure. Once there, it took her 20
presentations before landing her first job!
After three years as a part-time illustrator, she was determined to make her painting a full-time effort. Two weeks after that fateful decision, she received a call from a local artist recommending her for a large scale project at Colorado Spring's prestigious Broadmoor Hotel. Happily, she got the job, and has continued to work on new projects at the Broadmoor since 1994, and other show places.
"The only emotion I feel when I paint is love," says Mickey, who is known for her trademark bumble bee that she places in each painting. The bumble bee is symbolic for many things in her life - the freedom of flight, the challenges that have contributed to her growth, and simply taking a chance on life.
Recently, in the past year - due to personal changes and the readiness
to explore different avenues of art - Mickey has released a new line of
contemporary pieces, focusing on her fascination with collage and the
freedom that it brings in different forms, shapes, and textures.
Mickey is a woman that goes with the flow of her life. And we urge you to support her, not only for her magnificent art, but for her willingness to reach out and fly with the bumble bees.

Dr. Suzan Starler is a woman who literally saved her own life, then went on to save the lives of others.

An essential part of Carolyn's philosophy as a trainer is that she holds her clients accountable for the goals that they decide they want to accomplish. For example, paying off consumer debt, decreasing spending, setting up proper protections, increasing income, or setting up budgets.
