SPIRITED WOMAN Q & A
Melissa Moraja
A
few years ago, I was contacted by Melissa Moraja via e-mail. Her
enthusiasm and charisma just popped out from the page. It seems as
though she had found out about Spirited Woman by searching the web and
she wanted to make a connection...personally.
That's Melissa. The 38-year old happily married mother of three kids (all under the age of five), who is also an artist, successful intuitive, author of a new book, "Empowering Your Soul: Create Balance in Your Life By Training Your Intuition," leader of a color workshop, guitar player, and.....more.....and.....more.
So we did connect personally, and I found this Chicago resident, who also holds an undergraduate degree in finance and a masters in marketing, to be thoroughly engaging. In fact, just recently, I trusted her enough to give me an intuitive reading about my life. Let's just say I was blown away by her insight and accuracy. And once again I marveled at the power of the internet and how it has brought us all closer together - or perhaps farther apart. That's for you to find out by reading Melissa's marvelous interview.
Q. What is an intuitive consultant? How is it different from being a psychic?
A. It's the professionalism of how the title Intuitive
Consultant comes across versus psychic. The word psychic is seen as
something bizarre, unexplainable, strange, odd, different, and just
plain weird. When one hears the word psychic, most people get a vision
of a gypsy fortune teller sitting in front of a crystal ball predicting
your future. People just don't get a vision of someone who is grounded
and can fit into mainstream America. In fact, many Intuitive
Consultants work closely with businesses to help in the hiring process,
identify new business opportunities, and conduct workshops in areas
such as the power of visualization.
Q. How old were you when you knew you had this gift, and what happened to help you see that you did?
A. I was seven years old when I knew something was different
about me compared to my friends and family. I was more of a loner
because I was so sensitive to the energies of other people. There was a
point in my teenage years where I started to wonder if I was going
crazy as the voices in my head and visions became more prominent. It
was when I was 18 years old that I had my first psychic reading. That
experience immediately gave me confirmation that I too was gifted with
an ability to see the past, present, and future. This is when I knew
what I wanted to do for the rest of my life - help others trust that
intuition is a part of our natural human experience and not a gift for
a select few.
Q. You teach a Color in Motion Workshop. Tell us more about that.
A. During this workshop, I take participants on a journey of
self-discovery to experience how colors, music, and other vibrational
waves of energy affects and is affected by them. I teach people my
unique methodology of ascertaining what one is consciously and
subconsciously creating in their life through an artistic creation of
their energy. Since I was a child, I have always been able to know what
a person has created and is creating in their life by the colors,
shapes, and placement of images within their artistic creation. In this
workshop, I teach people how to do the same. People leave knowing how
to also use colors and music to create positive change in their life
today.
Q. How can color help us heal?
A. Because color is energy it affects us on a physical,
emotional, mental and spiritual level. Look around you. The Earth's
natural colors are greens, blues, and browns. This didn't happen by
random luck. It was well thought out. Green is the color of love,
healing, balance, and calmness. Brown is the color of trust,
credibility, reliability, and groundedness. Blue is the color of
communication, emotions, honor, and sincerity. The Earth was designed
to continuously reinforce who we are. The color scheme of the Earth was
designed to create balance, and to provide humanity with the ability to
have balance. If the grass and trees on the Earth were the color red,
we would experience a high level of aggression in the world. We would
be at war every day of our lives. Our blood pressure would be
skyrocketing. We would become animalistic versus spiritualistic. If the
color of our sky was purple, a color that you rarely see in nature, we
would have a very difficult time grounding ourselves. Purple isn't a
color of action. It's a color of wisdom and vision. You need the color
red to bring the vision into reality. Since we are here to experience a
physical life, we need all the colors of the rainbow to bring balance
into our life.
Q. You are an artist as well - what kind of art are you currently creating?
A. Funny that you ask. I'm actually working on getting a
childrens book published. I created eight colorful characters which
will capture the hearts of not only the young, but also the old. They
will inspire a child's mind through a playful imaginative adventure
while educating them on color, friendship, problem-solving, creativity,
and the magic that exists in each and every one of us. I also am
working on a spin-off of Empower Your Soul which will contain
empowering stories from your everyday housewife to an NBA basketball

Q. You speak all over the country - what are you sensing now in terms of what is on people's minds or what is a trend?
A. People are concerned with their financial stability and
future. The housing market isn't going to turn around for a few more
years. People need to be more conservative with spending. Because of
the advancements in technology and accessibility to travel, many people
are experiencing a greater loneliness. People have so many options in
finding love that they are having a difficult time committing. People
also are spending less time together and instead emailing and texting
each other. We are physical beings that need physical touch. This trend
will continue throughout my life. People need to learn to commit and
not be afraid that something better is out there.
Q. What are your thoughts about women's intuition? How can we access it and best use it?
A. We all have a certain level of intuition. Most woman have a
natural ability to sense things at a deeper level. The key with
developing your intuition is paying attention to it and trusting it.
Most people doubt their gut feeling. All people need to do is listen
and pay attention to the messages around them which may come as a
certain color, image, vision, dream, word, or gut feeling to start
developing their intuition. Its not as complicated as many people
think. Trusting what you are getting, feeling, seeing, and sensing is
the key!
Q. Melissa, why do you feel that you are a spirited woman?
A. The very essence of my soul and being is creativity, fun,
love, and passion. People know I'm a spirited woman as soon as they
meet me because of the enthusiasm I have for life. My workshops and
consultations empower people to follow their gut feeling and to pursue
their dreams. I can lift someone's spirit when they are down. I can
help them see that even during serious times there is always a light at
the end of the tunnel. I am living my passion in life as a teacher. I'm
following my dreams and sharing my knowledge with others. My entire
being radiates creativity, fun, and life in everything I do. I am a
spirited woman! I am someone who is living a spiritual life in a
physical world and enjoying every minute of it.
