Welcome to the world of SPIRITED WOMANHOOD.
I'm so excited…I'm so excited…I just can't stand it….wasn't that the lead to a Pointer Sisters' song? Well, I'm a writer and a workshop leader - so who knows, but I can relate, even if I can't sing a tune. Things are overflowing on this end. And I'm ecstatic.
Spirited women from San Diego to Switzerland are now on the newsletter list. Talk about spreading the word! There are four workshops planned in August - I'm calling it my California summer - and they're already filling up (so my advice is to BOOK SOON, if you want to go), there are 30+ listings on this month's listing board (that's a record!), and for the first time ever, on July 22, I'm doing a free teleseminar with Pamela Harper. Wow. Things are popping.

SPIRITED WOMAN Q & A
Pamela Harper
Pamela Harper is a registered nurse, addition counselor, and certified clinical hypnotherapist. She is also a pioneer. A proven expert in the field of mental and physical health and recovery issues, thousands have benefited from her “Suggestion Therapy” audiotape programs on topics ranging from weight loss to substance abuse, and now thousands more are benefiting from her work via the internet, where she has created audio visualizations to download.
A resident of San Clemente, CA, Pamela, who owns Permanent Changes, is also a private practioner, workshop leader, bestselling author, professional speaker, wife, grandmother, successful entrepreneur, radio show host, and mall lover. The woman goes 24/7.
I was introduced to Pamela in April, when a friend suggested I take her “Abundant Mind-20 Weeks to Prosperity” e-course. Within a very short time, I was hooked listening to her every morning, and found my life changing. Intrigued by what she was doing, I called her, and the rest as they say is SPIRITED WOMAN history. She came to a workshop in LA and from that propitious meeting our teleseminar entitled "Visualize Abundance" was born.

Q. Pamela, you developed “Suggestion Therapy.” What is it?
A. Suggestion Therapy is a combination of relaxation and self-hypnosis that imprints new beliefs to make permanent changes. It targets that part of the brain that easily manages six trillion functions at once - the subconscious mind. I coined the term Suggestion Therapy in an effort to include many more people who have been misled by the “hype” of the stage hypnotist. These simple programs guarantee dramatic changes just by relaxing and listening 15 minutes daily to the positive self-nurturing suggestions. They give you the tools to develop a mind set that allows you to acquire whatever you want in life.
Q. What has been the biggest challenge you have had to overcome in your life?
A. I would say addiction. I was a drug addict and I have been clean and sober for 22 years. I was addicted to amphetamines and alcohol and pot. When I saw that I was actually dying, I knew that I had to make a change and I went to 12-step meetings. It was just a matter of time before I over-dosed. I was spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally addicted. I was completed addicted. I went through withdrawals. I used everyday for 15 years.
Q. What happened to your life after you stopped using drugs?
A. Once I stopped using drugs I didn't feel that I could be creative as a journalist anymore, so I let that career go, and I went back to school to become an addiction counselor because I knew what it was like to be in the thralls of addiction and I also knew how to get out of it. So I figured, you know what, I can help people. I did that for many years, but I wanted more. So I went back to school again and I became a registered nurse, because I wanted to understand the physiology of addiction and to help. When I graduated I went into psych nursing. I watched people, they just didn't get better and even I still had some lingering stuff - those core beliefs. I grew up in an alcoholic family, so that addictive behavior, that low self-esteem, those things kept creeping up in my life and I continued to have obsessive-compulsive behavior. Four years ago, when I went back to school to become a hypnotherapist, I thought it would help all my patients who had panic attacks, and it did, but it also helped me, because as we were practicing on each other I recognized the POWER of slipping into that restful awareness and I began to change dramatically and I started making myself audiotapes. And I made other people audiotapes and thus my business began to grow. And my private practice began to grow.
Q. Have you ever had any abundant/money issues yourself?
A. I've struggled my whole entire life with money issues, because I was taught the idea “you can't go to heaven if you are wealthy.” So that was one of those core beliefs I had to get rid of, and that I am actually closer to god when I allow abundance to materialize in a big way. That is incredible to me to understand that concept now and to feel it. So the wealthier I am the closer I am to god. Gheez, what a difference.
Q. What is your passion in life?
A. I help people heal from the inside out. I help people go to a level of consciousness that they are not able to go to on their own. That is my passion and that is my life. And I wake up in the morning and I say “god put me where you need me to be and I do whatever I am told, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.” My life is no longer my own, and I chose it to be that way.
Q. What advice would you give any woman business owner?
A. Don't give up. Live your passion and it will come. But, we all need to have that life purpose, whether that life purpose is owning a pet store and loving pets and helping people be close to animals - if that is my life passion then I put that out in front of me and no matter what seems to come along the way, I need to know that everyone of those experiences is only there to increase my ability to have my life passion materialize. So everything that happens along the path is there for a reason and you need to celebrate each one of those experiences. Just, DON'T EVER GIVE UP.
Q. Why do you feel you are a spirited woman?
A. Because I live life richly and fully and I never allow anything to get me down. I never allow anything to detour me from my life purpose.

HOW TO PLACE A LISTING
E-mail a 60 word or less description of your listing (word count must include phone number and such) by the last day of each month (i.e., July 31 for August issue) to: thespiritedwoman@aol.com and put "LISTING BOARD" in the subject line.
All past SPIRITED WOMAN WORKSHOP attendees receive ONE FREE listing EACH MONTH. All additional listings are $15 per item per month.
For those of you who have NOT attended the SPIRITED WOMAN WORKSHOP it costs $15 per listing per month. Please follow the above instructions.
