Cheers to a new year, and another chance for us to get it right. -- Oprah Winfrey
The year 2009 started out with a bang. My schedule was so jampacked with author/client projects and meetings of business and women's groups, I could barely fit everything onto my DayTimer pages.
In February, Nancy Mills chose me as a new member of her International Spirited Woman Blogger Team. What an honor! I was surprised to be selected, and a bit apprehensive at the prospect of coming up with two posts a week, but I've done it and I'm delighted to be writing for Spirited Woman readers.
March 22 was probably the highlight of my year, as I celebrated my 70th birthday -- really, really impossible for me to believe, as I still think I'm in my 30s! -- at a local French restaurant. Friends and family came to the party from Miami, Cincinnati, Maryland, Oregon, L.A., Silicon Valley, and Napa. Lots of fun on that once-in-a-lifetime occasion.
As the spring and summer months rolled by, I could usually be found in nose-to-the-grindstone mode. My husband was also very busy, taking courses toward the completion of his B.S. in I.T. Project Management, and developing his wireless handheld products. We did take a week's break in July for a combination family reunion/mini-vacation in Pennsylvania. And there were enjoyable get-togethers with friends here in California on several occasions.
Then, around mid-September, I began to experience what my free-lancer friends had told me was happening to them way back in the spring: several clients, affected by the uncertain economy, canceled or postponed projects. These have been scary, scary times for so many of us!
But it seems that the tipping point has been reached, and now there's a new, hopeful feeling in the air again. And so...
As 2009 quickly draws to an end, I can hardly wait for 2010, rushin' round the bend!
Happy New Year to all!

Yes, for sure, Gina. A renewed sense of harmony and balance in 2010 would be great.
