Don’t know about you but I’m obsessed with lip balm! I’ve tried every brand and even the pricey ones like Kiehls, Clarins, Dr.Hauschka, Burt’s Bees, etc, use ingredients that are not safe for us or the environment. And the cheapie brands like Carmex and Chapstick just have this yucky waxy consistency that does not feel good on your lips and forces you to reapply often.
That said, I want to share with you a collection (and future obsession) of lip balms that will literally make your head spin and your lips feel like a baby’s tush! And of course, it measures up to our mission of being 100% natural and green! It’s called My Lip Stuff ! M.L.S. was started by Brea in 1999, a serious lip balm junkie who calls herself the lippy lord and lip balm goddess. Brea started her lip balm quest after watching the lovely and spirited Martha Stewart teach viewers how to make lotions and toiletries. As a vegan, she searched and searched for all the essential butters and oils and a year later My Lip Stuff was born!
M.L.S.' products are NEVER tested on animals, contain natural (from the earth) ingredients and do not contain any harsh ingredients like petroleum or mineral oil. The company tries to use recyclable materials as often as possible and even gets power from renewable resources like wind, water, or landfill gases, instead of oil.
Ok – so here comes the obsessive part. M.L.S. has a selection of over 500 flavors including some of my favorites Pink Cake, Rainbow Sherbert, Green Apple, Gummy Bear, Apple Raspberry and Pumpkin Ice Cream. The best part is that they offer the balm in two forms – a tube/stick for $2.50 or a pot for $3.50. M.L.S. also offers a TON of other products (some VEGAN) like a butter stick (great for elbows, knees and cuticles), body sprays, tinted lip glosses, bath salts, bug spray, aloe and more! On their site, they also offer great tips on how to recycle your lip balm tubes including my favorite, the perfume refresher. Stick a cotton ball soaked in your favorite perfume into an empty lip balm container and when you need a hint of fragrance, swipe on.
