Last weekend my grandparents came in town. I was so excited because we were going to the beach (If you have forgotten I live in Florida so it’s always warm). We got all packed up and drove down to meet them in Siesta Key.
There was only one problem. It just so happened that last weekend we had a cold front and it was 65 degrees. I was very disappointed because I had packed shorts and a t-shirt. Sunday we had no plans. I quickly discovered I can’t sit around all day and do nothing.
My grandparents, sister, and father decided to go read by the pool. Even though the pool was heated I still didn’t think swimming would be fun. I read for about five minutes and then asked my mom to do something with me. We decided to go adventuring!
We hopped in the car and drove through historic downtown Sarasota. I saw so many cool things. On practically every corner was an awesome statue. I really loved that drive. We had packed a lunch and stopped to eat outside a botanical garden. We also found the ice cream shop my grandparents used to take my Dad to when he was little. Then we drove home and spent time with my wonderful grandparents. I really enjoyed seeing a new part of Florida. I think that this is part of being a Spirited Woman because I ventured outside the lines.
