Beginnings
All great things must come to an end. It's not the end that is
important though. All great things have beginnings. The root of a flower,
for example, is one of the greatest beginnings there is. Even though the
flower only lasts for a few weeks or maybe months it is one of the greatest
things in life. It's not the seed or the flower that's my favorite part.
It's that speck of green that pops up from the soil, it's that tiny green
dot that makes you so happy. To me that green dot that pops up from the
ground is one of the happiest things on Earth. A flower can stand for many
things. It is really life and death summed up into one beautiful plant.
You have all heard the expression telling you to smell the roses. Today,
this week, this month - Stop. Take a sniff. Smell the rose. Love the rose
because it won't be there forever. Sometimes a flower sees things we would
never see. It's like a camera nobody thinks about. It just sits learning
quietly. The flower is a miracle. It's a small miracle that we see each day.
That shoot of green in our yard is a new life in bloom. It's a new adventure
that's waiting to happen. It's a new love blossoming. It is up to Spirited
Women everywhere, every day to smell that flower.
