Spirited Beauty Happens at Any Age

A recent cover of Paris Vogue magazine noted that beauty comes in all ages. The edition was dedicated to women who represented beauty from ages 10 to 60. It was thrilling to see such a major voice in fashion and beauty, show their support of women at every life stage. 

The magazine featured a known personality to represent each decade of beauty. Among those highlighted were top model and style icon of the 60's Penelope Tree looking as unique as ever and still exuding her je ne sais quoi; 80's supermodel Cindy Crawford who is as gorgeous today as she was in her heyday; and the fashion world's current darling, top model Eva Herzigova. Each woman represents a different generation and yet each is magnificent. Beauty inside and out has no age limit.

The magazine issue includes a very interesting computer enhanced vision of what the same woman would look like from age 10 to 60. Perhaps my view would have been different 15 or so years ago, but I actually found the older versions of the woman to be the better ones. Women are like fine wine after all

Though it is true that our western cultures still idolize youth, the tides seem to be shifting a bit and more mature women are finally getting their due recognition. With women like Michelle Pfeiffer, Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore still gracing the silver screen in staring roles, mature women are beginning to see themselves represented in Hollywood's version of life as well.

One magazine cover is not going to make a difference in how beauty is defined but it is a very good sign of changing times. Women are beginning to get the outside confirmation that beauty happens at every age. Most spirited women already know that, but isn't it nice to be proven right?
