HOT, NOT

As summer is coming to a close, the ON SALE period is here just like every year. Merchandisers are begging (a big slash in price) to be adopted by big-spenders like me. I am a woman with built-in DNA for the love of shopping and I do enjoy the adrenaline kick and retail therapy so much that I make sure I won’t miss out this season’s bargains.

Surprisingly, a revelation dawned on me this time round. I pay attention to what my shopping preferences are be it fashion, beauty, books, grocery, furniture, etc. and here is a mini-breakdown:

FASHION
HOT: Tops in bright sharp colors in XL                                                            
NOT: Boring black and white and maybe grey in Small

ACCESSORIES
HOT: Accessories including rings, bracelets,  Ear-rings and watches with precious stones and in gold
NOT: Everything silver and plain

BOOKS
HOT: Fiction, comics and design competing   
NOT: Self-help, philosophy, and literature ONLY Shelf space

FURNITURE
HOT: That comes in assembled and ready
NOT: NO more Ikea or anything that requires to use massive labor work on my part

HOLISTIC
HOT: More focus on my mental and spiritual wellbeing
NOT:  The physical aspect of looking WOW is all there is

MORE HOLISTIC
HOT: Listen to my heart and more intuitive               
NOT: Listen to my brain and being logical

EDUCATION
HOT: Enrolling in courses which I couldn’t have imagined trying
NOT: Stuck to what I know best and never venture out to unknown territories

LIFE LESSON
HOT: Learn to forgive and forget                            
NOT: Holding grudges and pinning voodoo-dolls

FRIENDSHIP
HOT: My perception of friendship changes Big-time (2-way relationship)
NOT: Holding on to torn friendship/relationship as if my life depends on them

SELF-LOVE
HOT: Love myself warts and all                                  
NOT: Love the physical beauty I had and hating The rest

The butterfly has finally emerged from the cocoon and she is now enjoying who she really is, her freedom from old bondages which is priceless and the process of going home. Maybe my mid-life crisis hit sooner than expected but I am thankful for that because I am no longer the Poor-me victim of life; knowing that I am now in charge of my destiny, constantly re-creating myself anew in the grandest scheme of the Universe.
