I am constantly on the hunt for items that make my travels more comfortable, relaxing and basically easier. Whether it is finding my favorite products in compact little packages or the little comfort items that help me sleep while on a plane, I am always looking. When I find some cool things, I have to pass on the good finds…so, here are a few things I have recently found (some recommendations from a flight attendant with 40 years of flying behind her) that made me psyched to get ready for my next trip.
1. The eyes have it: I don’t know about you – but when I fly I never leave home without eye shades in my bag just in case I want to try and nap on the flight (I struggle sleeping on planes, so the darker the better). I usually just bring a pair left over from an old trip, but I was happy to get an upgrade when I heard about this very cool new product that not only gives you complete darkness when you want to sleep but hydrates your eyes! The one part of my face that I continually battle with is puffy eyes (especially when flying – dehydration), so how awesome to find an eye product that not only shuts out the light but helps to hydrate my eyes as I sleep! Perfect for those five hour cross country flights. Check out the product – Tranquileyes from Eye Eco and pick up some from yourself and your fellow Spirited travelers.
2. Never leave home without it: Whether I am traveling for business or fun, I always bring my makeup
with me to help finish off any look I am putting together. But unfortunately, my makeup bag is big and bulky and is a pain to squeeze is in with all of my other must have items. I just heard about this compact little pencil set from Color by Cynde Watson. It is a nifty little kit the size of a small wallet that fits easily into your carry-on or purse and gives you all of the items and colors you need to make up your face however you would like.
3. Stay warm: I ALWAYS, always have a shawl or a scarf packed into my carry-on every time I fly. This is an absolute must as the temperature on most flights drops to 50 degrees the minute you hit 10,000 feet. Make sure to get yourself a lovely wrap for your next trip. A flight attendant I know has an online store where she sells some amazing scarves (and other wares) from her journeys for great prices. Chris’s Closet offers an amazing line-up of cashmere items in very spirited colors and patterns. Visit the store at http://www.chriscloset.com
4. The nose has it: I LOVE perfume….specifically, I love Chance by Chanel. It is my signature sent and most people know this about me. It is the finishing touch I do for myself before I leave the house or start my day. Without it, I feel naked. But because I try to always carry on my luggage, I can never travel with my big bottle of perfume! How excited was I when I found these very cute little perfume spray bottles that you can fill up for any trip. They weigh in at just about 2 oz and come in fun and exciting colors (including silver and gold which I love). I actually found my bottle at the gift shop at the Mondrian hotel in LA, but I also found them here at this hip little online shop.
5. Noise reduction and entertaining: While Bose headsets seem to be the defacto choice for noise reduction headsets on most road warriors, I actually ran into the issue of these lovely headsets falling out of my carry-on and being left for the next lucky passenger on my American flight. What’s a girl to do? Well, my very smart fiancé bought me a new set – small enough to be safely tucked away in my bag and strong enough to shut out the noise while outperforming most other headsets. They are called Etymotic ER-4P. Buy them for yourself or put them on your gift list – these little babies have it all!
Get yourself a few fun things for your next trip!
