My good friend Andrea Higham (who also happens to be the graphics wiz who designed my Quintessence Creative company logo & website) recently launched a line of sustainable apparel for children. All of the adorable Pooka Brand art is created by her talented son, Bailey, who is in fourth grade and her creatively gifted daughter, Marian, who is in the second grade. The T-shirts are made in a sweatshop-free facility, of organic cotton screen-printed with low-impact dyes.
In July, the Orange County, CA-based company was featured on EcoSalon.com and this month their tees are among green kids clothing that's considered "earth friendly" being modeled in Parenting OC magazine.
The budding entrepreneurs say, "our clothing is inspired by the freedom and imagination of childhood." Wow. You go green!
