The International Women’s Writing Guild was founded by Holocaust survivor Hannelore Hahn on her kitchen table over 30 years ago, in 1976. At that time there were three major “movements” in society:
- The Human Potential Movement
- The New Age with the notion of transformation through Spiritual Practice
- The Women’s Movement
The IWWG fused these movements under the umbrella of Writing.
- Through writing, it is said, you will access and activate your potential.
- Through writing you will raise your consciousness and experience the transformation of your former self
- Through writing you will find your voice and become an empowered and authentic woman/person
In addition, the Guild’s way became generic, hence:
- Accessing human potential without becoming clinical
- Accessing the spiritual without becoming institutional or a cult
- Accessing the pro-Woman’s Movement without becoming political
Thousands of women worldwide of all ages, backgrounds, social stratas, education and skill have discovered their true potential as women, and as writers through the Guild. Many have become successfully published authors. Come and join us! To register for a membership, and to learn about our yearly writing conferences, please www.iwwg.org.
We at Spirited Woman salute this organization for their integrity and over 30 years of helping women writers worldwide achieve their dreams!
